Choose the scope
Which work needs to stay in one system?
Both products describe elevator service workflows. The useful question is which records and decisions your office must carry from one step to the next. A maintenance visit, a callback and a safety test deadline can involve different records. Put each on your demo agenda rather than treating the category name as proof of the same scope.
FIELDBOSS explicitly names safety test and violation management. SES describes routes, field tickets, unit history and office review of agreement coverage before an invoice for billable work. A company with safety test requirements should ask for a live example of those requirements in each product. A company focused on ticket handoff should test that path with equal care.
Example evaluation
Use the same building in both demos
- Choose 1 familiar building with more than 1 unit. Ask how each visit and callback stays attached to the right unit.
- Follow 1 completed field ticket through parts used, customer signoff and office review. Decide what must be checked before billing.
- Show the vendor your required test dates and violation records. Ask which steps are included and which need another system.
- Ask for your exact accounting edition, record transfer, training, support and changeover work in the proposal.
This is an example evaluation sequence, not a claim that either product passes every step. Compare the demonstrated result and the written scope before assigning a winner.
Straight answers
Questions owners ask
What is a FIELDBOSS alternative for an independent elevator company?
Super Elevator System is an option to evaluate for maintenance routes, callbacks, field tickets and unit service history. Compare it with FIELDBOSS using your required safety test, accounting and office workflows. There is no single best fit for every contractor.
How much does FIELDBOSS cost?
The pricing page view checked on October 16, 2026 asks for a custom quote and does not display a price amount. Request a written quote covering licenses, implementation and ongoing support. The quote form alone does not establish your total cost.
Can either system connect to QuickBooks?
FIELDBOSS describes exporting a file for import into QuickBooks; the checked page does not name Online or Desktop. Super Elevator System reviews your version and required connection during setup planning. Confirm the exact edition and data flow in either proposal.
Can I assume the safety test features are the same?
No. FIELDBOSS names safety test and violation management. The current Super Elevator System product page does not list that scope. Ask each vendor to demonstrate the test records, deadlines and reporting you require.
What should a FIELDBOSS quote include?
Ask for the users and roles, licenses, implementation, agreed record transfer, training, accounting connection, contract term and support. Keep recurring fees separate from one time work so you compare the same scope.
How long would a change to SES take?
We review your records, software connections and training needs first. The setup plan then sets out record transfer, any training and your changeover date. Do not assume a changeover date from this comparison.
